Gallop & Ride

First of all, the controls are hard to manuver. second, you don't have a lot of money in this game. it's bad because you need to constantly spend it . from $500 upgrades to your barn to spending $100 on 10 portions of hay. You start out with $ 100 after your first upgrade. My daughter spent it right away on hay. The only way to earn money at this point is foal training and that is inpossible. she doesn't have any money. Hoof picking is hard and the only effective way to earn your horses trust. You can only ride your horse if you have a specific amount of trust. Its way too easy to lose this trust. if you clean you horses hooves but not have enough trust you have to wait 2 days before you can clean them again.foal training is very hard.you can't get the foal to cooperate and you can't reach the check points.very frustarating. don't make the mistake of buying this game Buy Gallop & Ride!

Tomb Raider Anniversary

I played the first Tomb Raider game on the Sega Saturn in the '90s and it's always been my favorite game. I got this one for Wii as a gift and worried that it would be too similar as I still remember stuff from the original. Don't worry--it's not! The locations are the same but they've changed enough in design to still be interesting. There are also new puzzles, different ways to move, different controls and new features for the Wii that make it feel like a new game that's oddly familiar. I haven't finished it but am loving it! It's just as frustrating as the original game when you're stumped (and I'll admit to having looked for a couple of answers online), which makes it just as rewarding when you accomplish whatever you're trying to do. I recommend it for anyone who prefers puzzle solving and timing challenges to straight shoot-'em-up action. The controls are different and the shooting can be tricky at first but once you get the hang of it it's not a problem and Lara can do so much more than in the original that it makes up for a little irritation during the learning curve. Ghostbusters the Video Game Amazon.com Exclusive Slimer Edition

i had bought this version over the regular wii version to see what the statue had looked like. it looks kind of neat. its a plastic statue not a polystone or resin.
the key chain looks neat i wanted to add it to my keys but i guess ill just keep it in the box. as you notice by the picture of the game, the case doesnt come with the slimer cover. you have to print one out when they email you a link.
now onto the game play. the game is pretty fun especially when you have two players. thats what i liked about this version compared to the ps3 and 360. even though i might get the ps3 version for graphics as the graphics in this game is cartoony; which isnt bad but i would have like it if the characters actually looked like the movie counterparts. the story is decent and the game play isnt bad. you control your proton blaster with the wii remote which i also like over the competition's versions, its more fun and draws you into the game. once you have locked onto a ghost after you got its power down you have to swing your remote in the direction the arrows are pointing to in order to knockout the ghost while hitting the b button to release the trap. in the game you basically go around the city dicovering disturbances that have manifested and are releasing ghosts into new york. it'll take you to places from the movies such as the library and the hotel where they find slimer. in the game you try to collect sketches as well as take pictures to add to toben's spirit guide. which has no real purpose. as well as create as much damage to the places as you want as theres no really purpose to the amount of money the city has to pay.
the only real gripes i have about this game are first the graphics, it should have better graphic and two you cant play as any of the ghostbusters, you only can play as the male or female apprentice. but in all the versions you are the male apprentice except this version you can play as a female for those female ghostbuster fans, in which i played as the female, shes kind of cute.Buy Ghostbusters the Video Game Amazon.com Exclusive Slimer Edition!

Go Play Circus Star

I love the Wii Balance Board and it gets a lot of use in this game.

Each player is a circus star doing various feats, winning or losing fans and earning money to unlock new feats and arenas. Some feats are harder than others to figure out how to do, but they are fun and challenging.

After unlocking many feats, this game is really great to use in the practice/training mode at parties. No scores are given but the ringmaster will let you know how you are doing with his rhymes and prose. People take turns and have fun!

I love the knife throwing, rola-bola, monkey dodging, elephant riding, flying silks, trapeze, and the tight-rope is far superior to the one in the Wii-fit.

I don't really care much for the magic act.

The feats load faster than the exercises on the Wii-fit and the UI is easier too. Loads of fun, and I was surprised the next day by how many muscles were hurting after sever hours of play on the balance board.Buy Go Play Circus Star!

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night

I enjoyed this game. But -- After owning and playing Zelda, I guess I am spoiled to the better graphics and much better control handling. Many places in the game, there should have been better target control with flying Spyro, and other game movements. I have this for the Wii Systema and I felt like I was struggling to have efficient control over the character. For one thing, if you miss a vital token, it would be nice to be able to return to previous areas that have been played to replay or retrieved missed items. You can do this in Zelda and it makes for a better game.

It is a nice family created game and I hope they continue with sequels and improving grapics, game control movements, and longer game play. I will purchase the sequels for the Wii. Buy The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night!

Madden NFL 07

I have all 3 Maddens on the Wii and this is by far the best there is. Want to zoom out and choose a player? Simply aim the controller at the guy and hit the A button. Simple. None of that cycling thru players and missing your guy. Sure, there are some bugs but just choose fantasy draft and play franchise mode. It will keep you entertained even today with the outdated rosters. It truly is the best version out there.Buy Madden NFL 07!

Travel/Storage Case Designed for Wii Fit (Colors May Vary)

I wish it would let me give it 2 and 1/2 stars. Oh well.

Overall I'm glad I bought this since it was pretty cheap. However this case really does the bare minimum. The balance board fits in nicely, but the bag isn't really padded at all. It provides some protection, but if you drop it the board will probably still be damaged. The adjustable strap is a good idea and is pretty comfy. There is a small pouch on the outside which is useful for the carpet contacts and maybe 2 games. Overall I reccomend it, but it doesn't provide much protection at all. Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil

I first played Resident Evil as a senior in high school, and I didn't really like it. I was surprised that it made game of the year (If I remember right). It wasn't until I played part 2 that I began to like the series. Code Veronica for the Saturn was stunning, and was the only reason I bought a Saturn.

I didn't even know there had been a remake of part 1 until 3 days ago, so I borrowed my friend's Wii and tried it out. I thought this game was incredible.

Visuals/Graphics --> beautiful. The gripe I have with the fixed camera angles is that it's hard to see what's really going on or about to happen. Sometimes, as in the real part 1, I'd be fighting an enemy while the screen kept popping back and forth b/w two views. Annoying. However, you can learn to deal with it. The big reason I like the fixed angles is the beauty. I've yet to feel that RE4 and RE5 have as much beauty as RE0 and this one. Also, as one reviewer said better, it does make the game scarier.

Sound --> terrific. I love the zombie sounds, as monotonous as they may be. I played this on my 7.1 system, and hearing that random thunder scared the heck out of me. You could kill a monster, stand there for a second, and then the thunder just goes off. Timing! It just sounded great! I also loved the sound of that stun gun destroying the zombies.

Gameplay/Moves --> great. The dagger and stun gun were awesome. Movement is a bit clumsy, but, it's like the others, really.

Overall, this game was a blast. To the updated graphics/sound to big-as* Neptune (that scared the heck out of me) to Tyrant (I hated them all, except this one), this game is worth the buy, and I'm considering buying a Wii just for this game. Also, the Lisa Trever storyline was a great addition, and with a disturbing theme. My last gripe is about those giving this game a low score. They seem to keep comparing this game to RE4 & 5. Those two games ARE NOT, to me, true to the way the series started. I never thought I'd see an RE game that reminded me of Doom or Halo, but it occurred, and I'm curious as to who/what made Capcom reinvent (?) the series like this (obviously I can't stand Doom/Halo). Comparing RE4 & 5 to earlier Resident Evils I think is confusing, as I think these latest two games are tailored to a younger generation. Nevertheless, thank you Capcom for this game.Buy Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil!

Alvin & the Chipmunks

The other negative reviewers are right. This is a really crummy game, just the same motion again and again. The Chipmunks music is fun, but there isn't any real interaction with the characters, and all you do is push a button on the wiimote or the nunchuk as a star passes a target. SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1

Remember when those Neo-Geo systems first came out? The games were so expensive that only one or two of the richest kids in school had one or two games. Or at least, that's how I saw it! Now you can own those rippin' expensive games for a fraction of the cost. And, all-in-all, it's worth it. There is some repetition with the fighting games, but that may be where the greatest strength for this collection comes from depending on your personal tastes. I personally loved the side-scrolling platformers; Metal Slug and Top Hunters are cool as hell, with pretty impressive graphics considering their age. The sports games, Baseball Stars 2 and Super Sidekicks 3 seem incredibly difficult, but then I remind us all that most of these games were designed for the arcade in which precious quarters can't be earned with a game that takes minimal effort to beat! Sengoku give us some nice Double Dragon action in a Japanese spirit world setting (ala Ronin Warriors). There are a couple other games, including a shooter that are interesting, but I haven't had much time to play, yet. Bottom line, dudes and dudettes, if you're interested in a little retro fix, and considering the lack of these types of games on the Wii, you won't regret dropping a few bucks on this collection.Buy SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1!

Wii Rock Band 2 Standalone Guitar

We bought the Wii Rock Band. It came with drum set (with el cheapo wooden drum sticks for the decent and functional, cymbal-less drum set) and the Rock Band 1 black and white, small plastic guitar.

Then we got the Rock Band 2 guitar.

Both Rock Band 1 and 2 guitars work well, though the Rock Band 1 guitar got tired of me strumming from low2up and the strum bar would only work up2low.

The RB2 guitar is much prettier with the fake wood grain paneling. The RB2 guitar is nice in giving a small feedback 'click' when pressing on the different colored tone bars on the neck of the guitar.

I use both guitars and have come to have no real preference however. As an adult RB1 and RB2 are about the only Wii games I will play, having little liking for the Wii controllers (I much prefer the Nintendo GameCube type controllers).

I only wish more songs were available, more easily for RB1 and RB2.

And that an adult sized RB1/2 wireless guitar was available from Nintendo. From Nintendo as I've found in general to avoid 3rd party controllers, particularly the ones that sell for less than the Nintendo units.

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins

I have played all the Tenchu games for PS and PS2. I'm obviously a really big fan of the Tenchu series. None of the Tenchu games have been as good as the first, but I love the sneaking around, story lines (most of them) and different kill moves in all the games. I always look forward to the next Tenchu game. When I saw that there was a Tenchu game for the Wii I was ecspecially excited. I briefly played the James Bond game on Wii and the little time I had with it gave me great expectations for Tenchu, thinking that the movability would be so much better than in the past. However I have been terribly dissapointed with the game. The movability is actually worse!

Cons:

~The controls are very clumsy. It is difficult to look around while moving. Impossible to turn on the spot (which you need since you are frequently on narrow beams over an enemy). While trying to turn to the side you also move forward or backward and therefore you will fall off the narrow ceiling beams.

~When you move in to kill an enemy you have to do a specific move chosen by the game (lack of freedom to choose your kill). You have to use the Wii remote to perform this specific move and there are animated instructions at the bottom of the screen for every kill. One particular move shows you pushing the remote forward as if you were stabbing the guy in the stomache, however if you try to move the remote the way the animation shows you to you will fail in your kill and be instantly sent back to the beggining. With this particular move I have found that snapping your wrist up and down works best.

~The animations are at the bottom of the screen for everything you need to do, it gets very annoying, I feel like the whole game is one big tutorial.

~Fighting with swords is impossibly hard. Again you have the animation at the bottom of the screen, however here you are not told what to do until it is almost too late.

This Tenchu has left out a lot of the good things from the original series.

~Mostly I miss my grapling hook, which was a staple through all the other Tenchus. Your grappling hook pulled you up to roofs and other high places. I am still stunned that they took it away.

~I also miss the jumping from roof to roof, not much of that in this game.

~Though Ayame is in this game, she does not seem the same person at all and therefore I miss her as well (My fav charachter through all Tenchus).

~Rolling was a great way to stealthily move through levels in previous Tenchus, there is no way to roll in this game.

~Lastly you are very limited on the number of items you can carry and even the number you can store for using on other levels. Items are always a big part of the whole Tenchu experience. I always loved luring a stupid guard with some poison rice... no poison rice in this game :(

Pros:

~Night Vision. This is awesome. With your night vision the areas you can hide in are a smokey blue color and the people in the game stand out in bright red. Not only do the people stand out but their line of sight as well. With this you are able to tell if the person around the corner is looking in your direction.

~Straffing. A quick movement from one bush to another. This is a good idea and pretty cool when it works right, however half the time you don't straff at all, instead you take one step and the other half the time you straff in the opposite direction. So not really a pro but could be if done right. Again you have to bee precise with your movement, I guess.

In closing I do not reccomend this game to anyone who has played any other Tenchu, you will be let down. The game doesn't even feel like it was made by the same creators. Actually I do not recommend it to anyone. Buy Tenchu: Shadow Assassins!

Wii Nerf Sports Pack - Blue

I have 2 grandchildren and knew they would love the addition of the Sports Pack to the Wii accessories. I ordered the blue set and when it came, there was browning on the items almost as if they had been stored too close to a heat source. I didn't even open the package. I sent them back and got a replacement, figuring it was just an isolated problem. The second package came, but unfortunately, the same problem, but worse. I sent the second set back and went to GameStop to find a clean one. I have always been pleased with what I've ordered from Amazon, so I feel like this is a fluke, but with this item, there was definitely some kind of problem. I did get a quick credit for the items returned and it was definitely no hassle. And yes, the kids love the accessories.Buy Wii Nerf Sports Pack - Blue!

SpongeBob SquarePants featuring NickToons: Globs of Doom

My son really enjoys this game. The game features a number of the Nick Toon characters which he likes to watch. You and another player (either CPU or human) battle glob like aliens from space who have captured your friends and it's up to you to free them. In the one player game you are able to switch back and forth between the two characters on screen. When two human players are participating the game runs into problems however. When the two characters get separated the game does not do a good job of handling it. It can be very frustrating to be off screen and not be able to get back to the lead character until the game eventually spawns you back on screen. Although this doesn't seem to bother my son and his friends so this might just be the rantings of a middle aged experienced gamer. Overall I would say if your child enjoys Nick Toons they will more than likely like this game.Buy SpongeBob SquarePants featuring NickToons: Globs of Doom!

Let first say that I grew up listening to Metallica when they first came out. I really really love this game. I only wish there were more songs from Justice For All and such. I found this game way more challengin than the other Guitar Hero games I've played. I can play this game over and over again. You don't have to beat many of the other artists songs to get to the Metallica songs. I just wish they had a faster song at the end. Little League World Series Baseball '08

I am not a hard core gamer. I just love baseball and enjoy "playing" on occasion. I rented a few baseball games before buying this one. It's childish, but it didn't require hours and hours of learning to have fun with. The other more complex games just weren't fun because there were so many elements to learn. This game is simple, quick to learn, and not frustrating. I also don't like games with a bunch of power moves that make it unrealistic. This game has very little of that. It seems that only one player on a team can really use the special moves, and only when the meter is full, which seems to be only a couple times per game. The game play is more complex and realistic than Wii Sports, but not so much that it is difficult to play. That's all I wanted in a game. I am not a kid, but I would assume this game is good for kids because of its simplicity. Buy Little League World Series Baseball '08!

Bomberman Land

Bottom line:
Story mode is terrible. It takes over 20 minutes of dialogue to even get started (which you cannot skip). Then it's just a bunch of tedious mini-games that will either have you playing for hours to beat them or throwing your Wii remote at the screen in exasperation. The game designers could not have had fun in mind when they designed this.

The upside. The original multiplayer Bomberman game is here and with nifty whistles and bells. You can pick the size of the playing field, select different fields to play, customize the type and number of power ups, playing time, etc. This alone is worth the small price of Bomberman Land.

So, buy this for the small price and original Bomberman game, but expect next to nothing from the story mode.Buy Bomberman Land!

Ninjabread Man

I played this game for 2 hours. I want that time back! The graphics look like a PS1 game, the there were only four (Yes, four) levels. What's with the circular designs? It feels closed in. I ran around the first level for 20 minutes before I found the area I wanted. The music gets old fast. Ring a bell, Anubis II players? The tutorial, controls, music, and menu are all taken out from the 2 cent bin to create a fully more horrid game. The controls are broken. Jump with the nunchuk? It never works. Waggle the Wii remote to kill? Broken. By the time you realize it, the only thing that will be dead is you. The enemies are too powerful. The camera moves when it feels like it. Isn't that annoying when a game has a bad camera? It ruins games, and most of all, platformers. This is thee worst game to grace the Wii since Looney Toons Acme Arsenal. Do not buy this. Do not rent this game either. Do not look at this game. Do not think of this game. This game will enflict a thousand lifetimes of pain and suffering upon your body. Escape The Museum

I was frustrated like some of the other reviewers concerning size of images until I realized that you hold the trigger and push and pull with your arms to enlarge and shrink the scene. This is a miniscule blurb in the instructions that is VERY easy to miss. If you don't enlarge the screen, forget it you can't find squat.

Once I got my zoom down, I next worked on the getting rid of the narrative. (its poor, over-acted and annoying) Besides, you don't need it, the subtitles tell you what to do and you can hit your 'A' button to move through them faster.

Here's why I have so much fun with this game. It is addictive and a rather decent seek and find game, I just do a few things:
- turn the t.v. sound to zero (0)
- turn on my amp, find my favorite digital radio channel
- put on my favorite music and pump it through the room
- pour myself a tall one
- sit back and seek -n- find....

Gravity

I was rather unimpressed with this game. The puzzles are fine, but you can find similar puzzles for lower cost to play on the pc, where you will not be continually frustrated by trying to balance a ball using the Wiimote. I don't see the advantage of playing this type of game on the Wii. Also I find that sometimes you wonder why your solution is not working, only to find it's because you had to move a block just a hair over to one side or something -- again, it just seems needlessly frustrating on the Wii. Get this game only if you can find it at a great discount and really have a thing for these types of puzzles.Buy Gravity!

Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity

Everything about this game gives me the impression that it was rushed out the door without being tested thoroughly, and that's just sad. Even the DS game was better than this.

The game loosely follows the plot of the fourth and final season of the show, ending with the freeing of William from Xana's control; the gameplay is almost exclusively confined to Lyoko, with the option to switch between characters at will depending on which weapon or ability you want to use. Also, in addition to the four original sectors and Sector 5, there's a new volcanic sector.

To be fair, the graphics are competent for the most part, if a little vanilla, and the voice acting is entertaining; I especially like the option to switch between English and subtitled French, probably the only opportunity American Code Lyoko fans will ever have to hear the characters' voices as they were originally performed. It's worth pointing out too that the bits in the Digital Sea were fun, although the weapons took some getting used to. But everything else about this game just seems horribly broken to me.

For one thing, every time I played a level on the new volcanic sector, the graphics started to lag and everything suddenly turned maddeningly slow and jerky. For another, the characters' weapons are completely unbalanced; of the four, only Odd has a ranged weapon that can be fired while running--Aelita has to completely freeze every time she fires, and Yumi and Ulrich's weapons are so ridiculously short-ranged that you almost have to be right on top of the enemies before they start to take any damage--so you'll probably end up using Odd almost exclusively. (Incidentally, why does Ulrich start off only using one saber when you can see two hilts on his back?) The health stations and checkpoints are scattered throughout the levels more or less at random, and Aelita's connect-the-dots block building and Odd's Metroid-style wall jumping take entirely too much getting used to. Add in the fact that there's no camera control, and you could hardly be blamed for suspecting that the designers are indeed out to get you.

But the biggest slap in the face is the ending, or the lack of one; once you've beaten the game, you're treated to a clip that lasts about five seconds and a credits sequence that's identical to the one from the show, the one with the Subdigitals song and the file folder. That's all the game has to reward you with; hardly worth the effort it took to get there. I was also stunned to see that the game doesn't even allow you to explore Kadic Academy beyond a tiny strip outside the main gate; and although the other characters from the show are hanging around, talking to them yields almost nothing except the occasional "goodie" (usually a still frame from the show or a bit of concept art). One thing I did enjoy was a gallery of entries from a contest that was apparently held at some point; I don't know any of the details, but it was still fun to see some original monster designs from the fans. I can't recommend this game for hardcore Code Lyoko fans, because it doesn't add anything to the story that you didn't already get by watching the show, and the game doesn't provide nearly enough background for non-fans to have any hope of following the plot. And either way, the gameplay is so broken that it's not worth the money. Give it a miss.Buy Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity!

Margot's Word Brain

Very limited games, kept the family entertained for maybe 10 minutes before we were wishing we had rented it first.
